‘Bartender! Another round!’ yelled the woman at the bar.

He smiled and rolled his eyes. From a glance, he could tell exactly the kind of woman she was; attractive, self-entitled and thinks she owns the place. He looked around; she seemed to be all alone. No friends in sight, no date. He shook his head, and thought to himself, ‘Yeah, with an attitude like that, no surprise there.’

However, despite the disdain he felt at the back of his mouth, he could not hide the fact that he found her very attractive, the way the back of her dress swayed, revealing less and more of her bare back as she herself swayed where she stood. She was drunk out of her mind, only her arm on the bar probably kept her from toppling over. ‘It’s closing time, ma cherie, go home,’ he said with a smile as he waved to the bartender.

The bartender ignored the drunk woman and gave him a bottle in a brown paper bag. ‘Sorry, can’t keep it open today,’ he said to the man as he glanced sideways at the woman who had to desperately steady herself again or risk falling over, her high heels not helping her cause. ‘Fucking drunks,’ he whispered.

The man smiled, ‘Yeah, I know. Want me to get rid of her?’

‘Yeah, please take her out and put her in a cab or something. I need to leave, Celle’s ready tonight,’ the bartender added with a wink.

‘Best of luck,’ he replied with a lazy smile, then turned to the drunk woman and said, ‘Come along now, miss. Let's get you home.’

‘But I want another drink!’ she howled. He had a better look at her this time. Her light bluish grey silk dress clung to her body like a second skin, her breasts seemed to move like they had a mind of their own, leading him to believe she wasn’t wearing a bra, and then there was the way she smelled whenever her mouth was not open. He smiled again, she could barely keep her eyes open, her speech had also started slurring at this point and her hair was a mess. Actually, she was a mess.

He glanced at the bartender who seemed to signal, ‘just get rid of her!’ as he hurriedly tried to tidy up the place before he left for the night. He shook his head in reluctance and sighed, ‘Come along now, miss. Here, the bartender gave me a bottle for you. You can have it on your way home.’ He put his arm around her waist to guide her towards the door. Her skin felt soft and smooth under the silk of her dress. She however only seemed interested in his bottle that he offered her.

He glanced again at the bartender who seemed to thank him for getting rid of the annoying customer. Once out the door, he looked for a cab, but he knew there would be none around this small alley at this time of the night. He’d need to take her to the main avenue a few minutes walk away. He looked at her again from the corner of his eye and she was absentmindedly cursing the bartender and thanking him for saving her. He casually slipped his hand lower, till it rested on her butt. She was still thanking him for the drink he had promised her. ‘At least she’s wearing panties,’ he sighed as he asked her, ‘Ok, where do you live? You know so I can get you a cab?’

‘Paris, 16ème, Seine!’ she blurted out, now trying to snatch the bottle from left hand as his right hand wandered back up to feel the bare skin of her back peeking through her dress, which made her squeal a little and then giggle hysterically. His hand was probably a bit cold.

‘That is quite far away. Perhaps you’d like another drink before you head out? My place is right next door.’

‘More drinks! Party all night! Win Win!’ she cheered.

‘Very well then, if you insist,’ he said with a roll of his eyes as he guided her towards his apartment building. Sure her personality might not make her quality girlfriend material, but it’s not like he was looking for a long term relationship, or any relationship for that matter.
