Shame is broken out of prison by his fiancée
Calamity Jane and her mother Frontier Fanny, who have assembled a new gang for
him, to boot. Though strongly disliking his potential mother-in-law, Shame
approves the gang out of devotion to his fiancée, and begins a new crime spree
after delivering the customary taunt to Batgirl.
From the taunt, the brilliant Batgirl
correctly deduces that Shame means to rob the Gotham City Opera House. There,
the gorgeous purple crimefighter easily overpowers Shame and his men, but she's
surprised by Calamity Jane and Frontier Fanny, who wield the gang's secret
weapon: fear gas. The powerful chemical quickly reduces Batgirl to a helpless
coward; she become a person who lacks courage in facing danger and is also easily
intimidated person, allowing Shame's gang to escape with the loot and a scared captive Batgirl.

Will the purple beauty stay forever in a
constant state of paranoia?
